The JPProject (“we,” “us,” “our”) operates thejpproject.com. This page explains what information we collect when you visit or use this site, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

What we collect, and why
Contact form. When you submit the contact form, we collect your name, email address, and message. This is sent directly to our inbox by email — it is not stored in a database on the site. We use it only to respond to you. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in responding to inquiries, or your consent in submitting the form.
Newsletter signup. When you subscribe, we store your email address in order to send you new articles. We do not share this list with anyone outside [Your Business Name]. You can unsubscribe at any time by emailing us at webadministrator@thejpproject.com [or: using the unsubscribe link in any newsletter email]. Legal basis: your consent, which you may withdraw at any time.
Comments (if enabled on this site). If you leave a comment, WordPress collects your name, email address, IP address, and a browser cookie to remember your details for next time. An anonymized string from your email may be sent to the Gravatar service to check if you use it; the Gravatar privacy policy is available at automattic.com/privacy. After approval, your comment and profile picture (if any) are visible to the public.
Server and security logs. Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically logs standard technical information — IP address, browser type, pages requested, and timestamps — for security and to keep the site running. These logs are kept only as long as needed for that purpose.
Analytics. We Google Analytics. A cookie consent banner will appear so you can accept or decline analytics cookies before any tracking script runs.
Cookies
WordPress itself sets a small number of cookies automatically:
- A cookie to remember whether you’ve dismissed certain notices.
- If you comment, a cookie to remember your name/email/site for your next comment (see “Comments” above).
- If you log in (site administrators only), authentication cookies to keep you signed in.
These are considered “strictly necessary” or functional cookies and don’t require prior consent under EU/UK law. If we add Google Analytics or any other tracking tool in the future, those cookies are not necessary and will only be set after you actively consent via a cookie banner.
Your rights
If you are located in the European Union, the UK, or another jurisdiction with similar protections, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate data.
- Delete your data (“right to be forgotten”).
- Restrict or object to our processing of your data.
- Receive a copy of your data in a portable format.
- Withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent (e.g., newsletter signup).
To exercise any of these rights, email us at webadministrator@thejpproject.com. We’ll respond within one month, as required by GDPR.
Who we share data with
- Our hosting provider, which processes server logs as described above.
- MailChimp, if we use a third-party email service to send the newsletter instead of our own list.
- Google, only once/if Google Analytics is added — Google acts as a data processor and may transfer data to the United States. We will rely on Google’s standard contractual clauses and update this policy with details before any such transfer begins.
We do not sell your personal data.
Data retention
We keep contact form emails as long as needed to handle your inquiry, then delete them in the normal course of email housekeeping. We keep newsletter subscriber emails until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Server logs are kept for a limited period per our hosting provider’s standard retention policy.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time — for example, when we add a new tool like Google Analytics. We’ll update the “Last updated” date above when we do. Significant changes (like adding analytics or cookie tracking) will also be reflected in a cookie consent banner where relevant.
